ECD-MUG-NPS with Indol kit
For selective and quantitative direct detection of E. coli within 24 hours from water, food and other samples.
After incubation the colonies on the membrane filter are lighted with UV light (366nm). Greenish fluorescent colonies indicate cleavage of MUG (4-Methylumbelliferyl-glucuronide). Subsequent put some drops of Indol reagent in the lid of the Petri dish and place the membrane filter on it. The appearance of red colonies within 1-2 minutes indicates Indol formation. Cleavage of MUG and formation of Indol are specific for E. coli. Further confirmation is not required (acc. to „Schweizerisches Lebensmittelbuch“).

Recommended incubation condition: 10-20 hours 44°C
